Qiu Shengxian
Qiu Shengxian is a famous contemporary artist living in Shanghai.
He becomes well known as sculptor with “Heart” that won the Excellence Award at the 8th National Art Exhibition and later with expressing the true love in “Mother and Son”.
Since more than 15 years he is continuing his artwork exploration in painting, where he has been able to incorporate elements of ceramic, sculpture, calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting with contemporary abstract symbols. With his last art series Sentiment and Remembrance Qiu has achieved an unique painting style with unparallel aestheticism which touch more people minds and emotions. Qiu’s paintings are widely collected by the well known corporations and Art organizations all over the world.
Being as a typical representative artist who integrates Chinese classic art perfectly with contemporary fashion art expression, “Mother and Son” and “Fuwa” (Chinese traditional image of happy kids) element is one of his featured painting styles. These achievements made through integration of Oriental classics with modern concepts have become one of the prominent features of Chinese Contemporary Art . It breaks all the boundaries set by the time and region , classic and fashion, the spiritual and material, the logics and the contraditions etc . It subverts the people’s inherent traditional concept and promotes the freedom of true art and doing everything . It shows the infinitely nobleness and greatness of human spirit .
